Broken Devices

It is important to know that all CNUSD issued devices (i.e. laptops) are the student's responsibility. We are speaking to our students about how to take care of their devices and ask that families do the same at home. If a student has a device that has been damaged, the fine to replace the laptop is $200.00.

If you have any questions regarding devices or technology, please visit the CNUSD website for information and assistance. Click HERE to visit the page.

The page states the following regarding damaged laptops:

"The parent/guardian is responsible for any damages or costs incurred as a result of the student’s use and possession of the device. As outlined in board policy BP8500, the Board of Education intends that technology resources provided by the District be used in a safe, responsible, and proper manner in support of instructional programs for the advancement of student learning."

Arrival

Students need to be through the gate by 8:45 in order to be on time for school!

Thank you for continuing to pull all the way up in the circle. Please make sure to stay in your car at all times. If you need to help your child get out or into the car, please park in order to help the circle continue to flow.

Please do not drop students off in the parking lot. This is not monitored and not a safe place for students to be let out of their car.

We appreciate your help.

No Early Outs

We discourage checking your kids out the last 20 minutes of the day due to teachers assigning homework, cleaning up for the day and closing their school day. We appreciate your help in this manner.

Make Up Picture Day

Make Up Picture Day will be Wednesday, October 6th.

Donations Needed for Student Store!

We are up and running with our PBIS Points! Students all have a lanyard they wear daily with their name and bar code for staff to scan and give points when they are showing RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE and SAFE behaviors. They will use their points to purchase various items in the student store "The Eagles Nest".

We are in need of donations to get our store up and running. We would so appreciate any item you think students would like to "purchase" with their points. In the past we have sold:

Chips, Lollipops/Ring Pops, Bracelets, Lanyards, Little Toys (balls, sticky hands, fidgets ect.).

If you would like to donate, please send your donations to the office. We appreciate your kindness and help.

Meet our counselor!

My name is Elaine Foytik and I would like to introduce myself to you as the substitute School Counselor at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School. Ms. Katie Vela, the permanent school counselor at Wilson Elementary, is expected to return in November. I have enjoyed getting to know the students, teachers and staff these past few weeks.

The following services will be offered for the 2021-2022 school year:

● Classroom guidance lessons with emphasis on personal/social skills, bullying prevention, child protection, academic development, and career awareness.

● Small group counseling sessions, with parent permission, for students focusing on: divorce, grief, friendship/social skills, and anger management, etc.

● Individual counseling, with parent permission, to help students adjust to school, manage emotions and behaviors or help with personal issues on an as needed basis. (Due to large caseloads individual counseling is on a limited basis with limited sessions. Should a child need services outside the scope of school counseling a referral for assistance to other programs and services in the community would be discussed).

If you have any questions regarding the counseling program, please contact me via email at

Elaine.foytik@cnusd.k12.ca.us or by phone at 951-739-5820. You can also consult with your child’s teacher or an administrator regarding a referral. I look forward to working with you and your child and I will make every effort to provide support to all students, staff, and families in the community. We are going to have a great year!

Sincerely,

Elaine Foytik also known as Ms. F

Masks!

Please have your child bring a mask to school every day. We do have masks available for students whose masks are lost or broken, but it is very helpful when students bring a mask from home.
