A Message from Dr. Manola

Hello, and happy Friday! Can you believe we are wrapping up September? It’s incredible how quickly this month has gone, and that Fall is here. This morning, we are excited to join you to share some important updates and information and take a quick look ahead!

To begin, please know how incredibly proud we are of all of our students and families; despite the incredible challenges and uncertainties we are facing, our Leyden families continue to go above and beyond. Student attendance has been incredible, engagement continues to be high, and we are seeing some outstanding learning and teaching taking place. We know this isn’t the ideal learning environment, and appreciate everyone’s efforts. If you ever need anything, please reach out.

Additionally, we would like to say thank you so much to everyone who took part in our Parent-Teacher conferences on September 15. We had a great turnout, and the conversations were extremely productive. Feel free to reach out to your teachers anytime to set up a time to talk, and please mark your calendar for our Quarter 2 Parent-Teacher Conferences, taking place on Tuesday, November 17. More information to follow!

Lastly, please know that we are always here for you. If you have any questions or need anything at all, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of our administrators, and we will be happy to help. Thank you for all you are doing to help our students be successful. We are all in this together!

Best,

Dr. Dominic Manola, Principal

Freshman

All incoming freshmen are required to submit a health examination with proof of required immunizations prior to the first day of school. To date, there are still a number of students who have not submitted this document. In order to eliminate disruption to your student’s schedule, if you have not yet submitted this document, please do so as soon as possible. This health examination must be completed within one year of entering high school and must be completed on the Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination form.

Dental examinations are due no later than May 15, 2021. School dental examinations must have been completed within 18 months prior to the May 15, 2021 deadline.

Please submit all documentation to Marlene Cuevas, School Nurse.

Seniors

Any student who has entered the 12th grade shall show proof of receiving two doses of Meningococcal immunization MCV4. Students that are not in compliance by October 15, 2020, are subject to exclusion from school until the appropriate documentation has been submitted according to the IDPH code.

Please contact the health office at 847-451-3084 with any questions.

Clubs & Activities

We are proud to announce the roll-out of most of our Clubs and Activities starting Quarter 2! By October 20, we expect most of our groups to begin meeting with our students.
