MONTHLY UPDATE

We had a great month here at Tōtara Springs, with 4 school groups per week, every week this month. The TSCC Banquet that was held on the 19th of November was a great success in raising money for the new cabin project and continuing the ministry of Tōtara Springs, but more importantly, reconnecting and strengthening relationships with our alumni.

December continues the fast pass with more school groups in, along with our Youth Sports camp and 2022/23 Family Camps. Staff are looking forward to a week of downtime over Christmas!

The Registrations for Family camp have now closed, and we are getting ready for the fun-filled time with all those coming. If you haven't registered your child/children for Summer Kids Day Camp, Click on the button below.

Please keep safe over this festive month, and look after yourselves, your families and your friends!

Bon Voyage Kate Davis

Kate & Richard Davis arrived at Tōtara Springs in 2010 with their three boys, Ethan, Raymond and Rueben.

Kate started off supporting Richard as General Manager, but not long into being at camp, Kate would volunteer her time with many different ministry camps. She has a passion for getting to know and helping people. She has supported, offered wisdom and prayed for many people. Over the years, many staff looked to both Richard and Kate for advice and support.

Later, Kate started working at camp with the housekeeping Team for a couple of years, so she knows every knock and cranny of camp.

After Richard moved to a new job away from Tōtara Springs, Kate continued to work part-time in the housekeeping team. On the 30th of November, Kate's time working at Tōtara Springs came to an end. We know that Kate and Richard will always have a special place here at Tōtara Springs and will be back and help when needed.

Matthew 7 v 24 & 25 are verses about building your life on a solid foundation. Kate has been a solid foundation for her family, Tōtara Springs, camp staff, and guests that have come through. We look forward to seeing how God blesses you and your family through all the wonderful things He is still going to do through you, Kate!

SPRINGS INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

The month of November has seen the interns help prepare for the end of the year.

They have also been learning to make coffee to serve at Family Camp.

It has been a privilege to work with the interns this year and grow in areas of ministry and instructing. They have taken on new tasks and challenges with such an openness to learning what it takes to put a kid's programme together.

Tavita has taken on the men’s breakfast at Family Camp, making sure this is something the men will enjoy.

Emma is looking after the kid's programme for Family Camp and is programming at the day camp coming up.

Kiana is helping to organise the women’s high tea at Family Camp as well as the final night boogies. She is also learning to roster the staff for Day camp.

Ethaniel, Hayden and Luke have been busy instructing and helping host groups each week. They have been great getting involved with our guests and have given each one a life change experience.

Our interns are nearing their finish date at camp in January. We can’t wait to see what they go on to accomplish and hope they know they have been such an important part of every camp we have hosted this year. Their potential and capacity continue to blow us away.
