Alexander the Great

Alexander's Life

Alexander the Great was born the 6th day of the ancient Greek month of Hekatombaion. At age 13 he began learning from Aristotle and at age 16 his teachings ended. He was also tutored by the strict Leonidas. Alexander had 2 wives in his lifetime, 1 out of love and another out of political reasons. When he was 25 years old he already had a very wealthy kingdom. Alex conquered Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, Jordan, Palestine, Israel, Egypt, Iran, Pakistan, part of India, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan. Gradually growing his army and winning battles and gaining land, he had conquered everything from Greece to part of India. Alexander's troops did not want to find anymore and said that a good leader knows when to stop fighting. In 323 B.C.E. on his way back up he died of disease. After his death a lot of the empire had fallen apart.
