Tuesday October 20th. 2:00pm-3:00pm, Baldy 214

2:00pm-2:30pm: Anne Reed, UB GSE, will discuss Screencast-o-matic, a web tool now supported by GSE ONLINE

2:30pm-3:00pm: Robin Sullivan, UB Center for Educational Innovation, will discuss the Tools of Engagement Project, a SUNY-wide professional development opportunity.

Screencast-o-matic is an online screen recorder for instant screencapture video sharing. Our GSE Screencast-o-matic ProPage is designed so that GSE faculty members do not have to register for an account and can use the Pro features for free!

This informational session will provide you with many ideas for using this tool and will prepare you to create your own screencapture videos for your courses

Tools of Engagement Project

Are you interested in learning about instructional technologies that can be used to help engage students?

Then the Tools of Engagement Project (TOEP) is just what you need!

TOEP is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge and your teaching repertoire. Explore and reflect on innovative and creative uses of freely available online instructional technologies. TOEP is not traditional professional development, but instead provides online access to resources to explore at your own pace through a set of hands-on, self-paced, discovery activities. Discovery exercises include tutorials and resources relating to the use of blogs, wikis, audio, video, collaborative spaces, social bookmarking, and more. Share your learning and discoveries with faculty from all across SUNY in the TOEP online community.

This session is hosted by the Graduate School of Education, however, the entire UB community is welcome to attend. Anne Reed, GSE’s Online Learning Instructional Designer, will also be on hand to address GSE specific questions.
