Ulysses S. Grant- He lived in Georgetown, Ohio. He was a Republican. He was involved in the Whiskey Ring of 1875. And the Black Friday Scandal. Some major events. The construction of the Brooklyn Bridge was one. The Federal Election Law is passed. The Indian Appropriation Act is passed. The city of Chicago is almost burnt down. And the Civil Rights Act of 1875 is passed.
Rutherford B. Hayes- He lived in Delaware, Ohio. He was also Republican. I only found one scandal and that is they believe that he cheated during the election. Only 2 major issues but he was blamed for the failure of Reconstruction, and the withdraw of the troops.

Plays and Music
There were many play written during this time era. Some of the plays made during the 1870-1879 time period were "The Happy Land" and "The Wicked World". Some music made was "Home on The Range" and "The German Polka".
Popular Product
The Telephone. This product is important so people can communicate with each other from long distances. Also it takes away the difficulty of using a telegraph. It is popular because people wanted to hear each other instead of "Tap, Tap, Tap."
