Summer Reading Kicks Off on June 18
This summer’s theme is “Read Beyond the Beaten Path”. Kids, teens, and adults can pick up summer reading bingo cards starting June 18 as well the full calendar of summer events!. Once you’ve completed your bingo challenges, turn in your sheet to receive a coupon for ice cream. You may enter a raffle for “big ticket” prizes at that time too. Some programs we have in the works: sandcastle building on the beach, a wildcrafting walkabout, a month-long tabletop roleplay game, and more!

Geared to ages 5-8 but open to all. Sit back, put your feet up, and join Storyteller Rona Leventhal for a journey around the world and back with her back pocket full of stories. Rona is one person, but many voices! Through her, skies talk, turtle sing and magic happens! She'll have you tapping your feet, swaying in your seats, dancing, making funny noises, singing and laughing as she shares stories from the silly to the serious, from the mysterious to the monstrous! Adventures await!
LGBTQ+ Stories
Saturday June 26 from 2P.M. to 3P.M.
Book discussion & hangout for kids ages 8-11. We'll be reading titles that center LGBTQ+ identities and experiences, usually graphic novels. Pick up a copy of Lumberjanes: Beware the Kitten Holy at the front desk.
Fantastic Frogs with Mass Audubon
Monday June 27 from 3P.M. to 4P.M.
Through storytelling and hands-on activities, families explore the wonder of our mostly slimy amphibians – frogs. We’ll discover the 10 species in Massachusetts, their life cycles, their songs, and their habitat needs. Be prepared to sing like a frog, move like a frog, and discover how frogs are significant in the natural communities around us. Facilitator Laura Beltran is a Teacher/Naturalist at Mass Audubon Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary in Easthampton. She has taught about the outdoors for over 30 years, and has listened to frog songs even longer.
