Tellus Museum Field Trip on April 18th!

On Monday, April 18th, kindergarten through 3rd grade students will be heading on a field trip to the Tellus Science Museum! This is an incredible museum that provides fun exploratory lessons and activities that tie in directly with what we are learning in our science classes! Students will also have opportunities to visit the Museum Store, and may bring money if they'd like to get something there.

Field trip forms went home this week and are due back with $20 on Tuesday, April 12th. Please note that there is also a WT Cafe sack lunch option included. We have a limit of 2 parents per class for chaperones, so if you are interested in chaperoning for your child's class, please email Melissa Whitlock at mwhitlock@fultonscienceacademy.org before sending in money!

On field trip day, your child will need to wear their RED FSA uniform polo shirt. We will be leaving promptly at 8:15 to make sure we get there on time, so please make sure your child is at school before 8 AM. Thanks!

Muffins with Mom Date Change

Ms. Selstad and I realized that neither May 5th or 6th will be good dates to celebrate Muffins with Mom. On Thursday, May 5th, we will be having our annual STEAM Day, which will be quite a busy day. We want to make sure we have quality, intentional time with our awesome moms, so we are now moving Muffins with Mom one day earlier to Wednesday, May 4th from 8:00-8:30AM. We are SO sorry for having to change the date several times! Thank you so much for your understanding and support, and please mark your calendars!

We love our dads!

FSA Cultural Cafe

You and your family are invited to the 2016 Cultural Cafe on Sunday, April 17th from 4:00-7:00pm. This is a night where you will enjoy exploring the diverse cultures represented at FSA through a showcase of countries, homemade food, and a student led talent show. Families are asked to participate by sharing a dish that represents your heritage, and students are welcome show off their talents and abilities in the talent show. Please see the SignUp Genius links below to volunteer your culinary skills, talents and help for the evening.

Summer Skills Workbooks

Offered by Schools

Purchased by Parents

Benefitting Students

Many parents are looking for helpful tips for their child to stay on top of their academics over the summer. The Summer Skills books are three different series of review books (math, language arts, and foreign language) for students from pre-k through high school. Each grade level book helps students maintain their academic skills over the summer months. If you are looking for something to help your child review and stay sharp over the summer, please consider ordering these Summer Skills Workbooks for your FSAPS child. Orders should be turned in to me no later than Friday, April 22nd.

Earlier this week, Ms. P sent an email with information and a copy of the order form. This Parent Letter/Order Form is also coming home with your child. For our class, you can purchase a language arts and/or a math skills workbook for your child for $19.00 each. If you are interested, please indicate which subjects you would like to order for your child on the order form and send it in by Friday, April 22nd. Checks should be made out to FSAPS. You should be ordering the grade level they have completed this year – this will serve as a fantastic review of the skills they have learned this year and make sure they are ready for the beginning of the next school year. These orders will arrive to the school in May and we will distribute them to the students before the summer break!

For more information, details, and samples about each book - please visit the following website: http://www.summerskills.com/
