Bond Update

August 2023

At the August Board meeting, MISD Executive Director of Facilities gave an update on the November 2022 Bond projects.

Junior High #3

Land clearing is underway at the junior high #3 site located at FM1488 across from the Magnolia Event Center and Magnolia Parkway Elementary. MISD is currently waiting on building permits to be approved.

Intermediate #3

The intermediate #3 building pad has been finalized, and piers and storm sewer have been laid. The slab foundation is expected to be poured the week of August 21.


The project is currently running ahead of schedule.

Audubon Elementary

The construction of Audubon Elementary is currently three weeks ahead of schedule. The plumbing and electrical rough-ins are being added the week of August 14. The week of August 21, the second-floor decking and roof should begin.

Educational Programs: CTE

Part of the November 2022 Bond package included $4.5 million for the expansion of Career & Technical Education (CTE) building space at both high schools.


The building plans have been completed for the new CTE buildings. The permits are expected in October and buildings should be open for the 2024--25 school year.
