May's Technology Goals
To wrap up our last newsletter for the year, we will focus on our goal of using technology to make your life easier. Specifically, here are two quick ways that you can use Google to help you prepare for next year! A little preparation now can help set up next year to be even more successful!
End of Year Student Surveys
You can use Google Forms to create a quick end of year survey for your students so that they can provide feedback to assist you when planning for next year.
Some ideas that you might ask your students about:
- Which sections were most difficult
- Which were the easiest
- What review materials helped or did not help
- Which type of activities in class helped you learn the material best

Team Drives
Team Drives are a way to create a single folder for all teachers to access (that you give permission, of course) without having to mess with share settings. A Team Drive is great for two uses:
- A department to store copies of digital curriculum materials so they can not be lost from year to year as teachers change subjects or new teachers transition into a department
- For those who team teach a subject. You are able to create and edit materials and lesson plans without having to remember to share a document or resource to someone. Everyone has access to the folder automatically. This allows you both to use the same materials, student resource page, and post all the same assignments and ensure that any changes made are the same for all classes regardless of the teacher!
To create a Team Drive is as simple as making a folder:
- Open Google Drive
- On the left side menu, under where it says "My Drive", click on "Team Drives"
- Click the "New" button
- Name your Team Drive whatever you wish to name it
To add members:
- Open the Team Drive folder by clicking on the name of the Team Drive
- At the top, click on "Add Members"
- Type in their name or email address to add them
- **You have the option to control the access that each person has as well by using the drop-down menu. This would be helpful if you want to control who can add, edit, or delete documents. (See picture below)
