THE WEEK AHEAD!
Enjoy the Long Weekend!
Meeting
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19,
7:00 p.m. in the PARISH OFFICE
Our School Board meetings are open to anyone who wants to attend.
Spots Remain!
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 20 & 27, 6-7:00 p.m. in EXT. DAY
Do you or someone you know have a child who will be three years old by September 1? It's not too late for them to attend the remaining "Practice Preschool" sessions at St. Ann during the month of February to get a taste of what it will be like to go to school. We have two weeks left, and you are welcome to sign up for both of them! Attendees will have the opportunity to become familiar with the space and the teachers, and play and learn alongside current students.

Junior High Dance
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21,
6th/7th/8th graders are invited to attend the Spring Dance on Friday evening down in the hall. This is the "formal" dance, so please have your students dress up. More details will come home next week.
Casino NIGHT UPDATES
Our next planning meeting is WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 7:00 p.m. at J.J. KELLEY'S. Earn an hour for attending the meeting. Earn many more hours by donating, securing sponsorships, or volunteering at the event! Sign up here.
Event tickets are now on sale after Masses and in the Parish Office, and you received an order form in a past Thursday Envelope. Tickets are selling rapidly, so you'd better act soon if you want to attend! They are $50 each and include dinner, open bar, dancing, and lots of fun, including cash casino gaming: poker, craps, roulette, and blackjack. There will be a prize for the class that has the highest percentage of parent participation (attending, donating, working, they all count).
Don't forget to ask your employer or other business contacts to sponsor our evening. Any parents who bring in at least $1,000 in sponsorships will have their entire volunteer credit fulfilled, just like that! Donor letters and sponsorship forms have been sent home, and extra copies or electronic versions are available for download on our website.
KEEP GATHERING THOSE STRACKS RECEIPTS!
Collect Strack & VanTil Food Market register receipts dated between September 1, 2019 and March 2, 2020 to help St. Ann earn FREE educational rewards! Every classroom has a Collection Envelope, and we will be tallying the value of the receipts turned in. The class that brings in the most will win a prize! Our cutoff for receiving your receipts is March 6, as they have to be processed for submission that next week. We are doing great--please keep it up!
Spring Soccer Registration
Did you miss last week's soccer signups? Please contact Jesse Terrazas at 708 257-9450 asap if your athlete wants to play. The St. Ann/Lansing Soccer Club will be putting together U8 (at least 1st Grade), U10, U12, U14, and U19 teams. Registration is $90, plus $30 for a jersey (which players keep).
DON'T FORGET, YOU HAVE UNTIL THE END OF MARCH TO PUT IN ALL 15 SERVICE HOURS AND EARN BACK YOUR $300 VOLUNTEER DEPOSIT!
Any hours worked after March 31 (like the school picnic and the Good Neighbor Day Parade) will be credited toward your 2020-21 school year volunteer requirement. Some opportunities between now and then:
This year we are excited to be partnering with a fun, free, and truly easy fundraiser called Shoparoo! Schools nationwide are already earning hundreds and even thousands every year through Shoparoo and it’s a great opportunity for us to really make a difference this year!
Shoparoo is school fundraising made easy: the free app turns pictures of your everyday shopping receipts into cash donations and sweepstakes entries for our school! Yep, it’s that simple. No more cutting labels, selling door to door, or time-consuming coordinating. All you have to do is shop as you normally do, snap pictures of your receipts with the app, and voila Just shop, snap, earn!
Get started today:
1. Download the free Shoparoo app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
2. Select our school from the list and start taking pictures of your receipts - shop anywhere, buy anything!
3. You can even select a grade to support and have fun with grade competitions!
There’s no limit to how much money we can raise with Shoparoo - the more supporters, the more we will raise for our school. Schools with just 40 supporters are earning an average of $1,000 every year. That’s free, easy money that we could be fundraising too. Check out shoparoo.com to learn more about this awesome app!
Thank you for your support!
Earn a 75% Tax Credit by Donating to a State Tax Credit Scholarship!
If you or anyone you know likes to take advantage of the tax credits you can get from year-end giving, please refer to the Archdiocese of Chicago's Tax Credit Scholarship information page. Not only will donations to the program made before February 29 (or until the fund is depleted) through Empower Illinois be TRIPLED by the 2-for-1 matching program, but your entire Illinois state tax liability could be eliminated! That means a $1,000 donation gets you a $750 tax credit, and becomes $3,000 in scholarship funding! Plus, donors can designate which school receives their funds, so the money can all stay right here at St. Ann in scholarships to help our families. Print a fact sheet here to give to your loved ones.
Weekly School Masses
We attend Mass together as a school community most Wednesday mornings in the Church at 9:00 a.m. Please join us any time!
