The Weekly Connection
Updates from the Principal's Office - September 25th, 2022
Message from Mrs. Jones
It is hard to believe we are nearly at the end of September, and now into the second progress reporting period of the school year! Student progress grades for the first reporting period are now viewable in the parent/student portal. If you have any questions about your student's progress, please reach out to teachers directly.
In October, we celebrate the "Kickoff to College & Career Month." Students will have the opportunity to participate in College- & Career- related activities on Wednesday, October 12th. If your student has questions about college or career options, requirements, scholarships, and more, they should visit their counselor or stop into the College & Career Center, located beneath the library!
Community Support Request:
If you drive your student to and from school each day, please help us to support safe access to all through the following:
- When you're in the drop-off and pick-up lines, you are often driving alongside student drivers, some of whom are new drivers. Please be patient, kind, and alert.
- Stopping to drop your student on the red curb on Stagecoach Lane is illegal and creates a hazardous driving environment for fellow drivers, as well as your own student.
- Pulling all the way forward in the drop-off line helps to reduce the traffic on Stagecoach and keeps things moving at a more reasonable pace.
- Students are not released from classes until the bell, so most will not be at the pick-up area until at least a few minutes after the end of the school day. If you arrive early, please do not block access to the parking lot gates, or traffic flow on Stagecoach Lane. Both create hazardous conditions for other drivers, but even more so for emergency vehicles moving through the area.
Thank you for your help and support in ensuring safety for our students and their families each day!
Reminders:
- Did you know that FUHSD has an anonymous tipline? If you or your student ever has a concern of any sort, please utilize this resource to reach out. The tipline can be accessed by clicking HERE, and is always linked in the Resources section at the foot of the Weekly Connection Newsletter.
Please take a moment to review the "Resources" section available below. If there is something you need, please feel free to reach out by telephone at (760) 723-6300 x3110, x3102, or x3103 or by email through our website.
