Weekly Report
Well, we were busy testing all week. We will test Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday next week and be finished. There will still be spring MAPS testing. These kids are awesome troopers.
We will have one more week of no story or spelling. We are reading a chapter book with partners, so we are still reading daily. I am also reading to them my favorite children's book of ALL time, Where the Red Fern Grows. (It won't let me underline it.) :)
The kids will be getting field day t-shirts to wear on field day. This is always a great day for the kids. Thanks PTO!
We still have a month of school left and I know summer fever is here. Thanks Mother Nature and your beautiful forecasts! (NOT) We still have lots to do and effort and hard work are expected. Easy A+s such as Daily Common Core packets and morning work are corrected in class. Part of learning is correcting these mistakes and discussing them. They are graded on being correct in the end, not if they had to be corrected. Don't be lazy kids!
The 4th quarter book report guidelines came home today. It is due by 5/11. It can be a non-fiction or fiction book. It does not have to be a chapter book, although, that would be nice.
Reading---We will finish the short chapter book. We will read some nonfiction in Time for Kids and complete some work in that program.
Math-Topic 12 will continue. We are telling time and working with clocks. Elapsed time is always very difficult for children.
Spelling--No list, no test!
Science--We will finish up Chapter 4 and have a test on Friday. Look for a study helper and a jeopardy link early next week.
English--We began our persuasive letters. We also started Unit 6 Pronouns in English.
Reminders/Odds & Ends
*AR/AM is a tight competition right now. So far, we have Joseph, Matthew, and now Mason. Two spaces are left. Who will it be?
*Thank you to Student Council for the nice teacher appreciation luncheon. We loved it.
