Extensions
While the extensions are a thing for now, remind them not to dally too long and to go ahead and get those applications in - I would assume with the present state of the financial world, scholarships may be few and far between going forward for a while so while folks are offering money - APPLY!
If students are sitting around the house doing nothing anyway, they might as well get applications in for FREE MONEY!
Welcome New Baby!!
She arrived at 12:10a.m. on April 1

Everyone is doing well!!
Teachers of Seniors AND EVERYONE ELSE TOO
In the days ahead (there is no rush as obviously it will take some time to write cards to our Fine Arts Seniors). I would appreciate those who have not sent them to do so. It may not make sense to you and that is ok. Here is the thing - I am a mom of a Senior. I am also a product of a strong musical theatre, band, and choral program in my own high school. I was involved in every drop of it and loved every single second of it. I am not sure about what you remember but for me, the 18 year old Senior in High School that WAS Katie Anderson would have been terribly devastated and discouraged and I cannot stop thinking about that.
I want our seniors to know that their work matters. The work they did in their school, in their chorus, the band, the stage, the art room, on the practice field covered in dust, sweating their face off in July AND on the football field with the lights and glory as well - ALL of that matters. Their "big year" was cut short. To me, that is a big deal.
So, thank you. Thank you for humoring me and sending me their info.
**In fact, if you don't teach seniors but you went to a show, took your kids to a show, TAUGHT those seniors when they were in your elementary classroom, etc. and you want to send them a card, I encourage it. They need our encouragement. They need our support.
- If you happen to be interested in sending a card to any on the list (even if just a few) email me and I will give you their info.
As far as I am concerned, it never hurts to spread sunshine. Especially these days.
