The Hungate Echo
Sherburn Hungate Weekly News - Issue 8
A word from Mr Broom
The Harvest Festival on Thursday was a real spectacle. The children were having so much fun and it was great to see the non-academic skills of performing, singing and dancing coming to the fore. Thank you to everyone who came along and donated to the harvest display. The food has been donated to the Selby & District Food Bank and will be well used in the community.
Next term promises to be a busy seven weeks in the lead up to Christmas. Our excellent staff team will be working alongside STARMAT colleagues in other schools to develop a curriculum model for all schools. Their expertise in the primary subjects will be used to guide and develop other teachers into providing sequenced learning for all children in the STARMAT. Exciting times.
Have a lovely break and enjoy the Halloween festivities.

Attendance Below Expectations!
What is frustrating is that while there has been genuine illness, we have seen some children who are apparently unwell, running around the playground at pick up and drop off times and playing in the streets! I'll be making several phone calls on our return from holiday, as well as sending out attendance warning letters.
Well done to those children with great attendance and congratulations to Year 2, who are our attendance champions this week with 98.9%.
