Train the Trainers: A model for preparing Educators on Special Assignment for School Psychological Services
PURPOSE: To train educators on the roles and responsibilities of a school psychologist assistant as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
DESCRIPTION:
The objective of the course is to promote best practice when identifying students with educational disabilities. This Professional Development (PD) session trains the School Psych Assistant (SPA) how to support the School Psychologist to ensure the Evaluation Team Report (ETR) is complete prior to the proposed meeting date and includes all required elements of the report based on the referral question or examination of disability category for reevaluation. Following the three day PD course, ongoing on-site support will be provided to participants.
The three day course will target the following:
* Test Administration
* Scoring
* Interpretation
* Evaluation team report writing & summarization
* Special education policy and procedures

Thursday, August 8, 2019
Time: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Registration will start 30 minutes prior to the start of the boot camp.
Lunch: There will be an hour for lunch -- you can either bring your own or
leave for any variety of eateries in town.
** Snacks and water will be provided -- Pop will be available for $0.50 **
MATERIALS TO BRING:
* Layers of clothing to adjust to room temperatures
* Computer or tablet that can access your special education program
* A re-evaluation case you will be completing during 2019 - 2020
* Preferred note-taking tools and materials

Cost: $575.00 per participant
Credit: 18 Contact Hours Provided by the ESC
** NOTE: ASHLAND CREDIT is available for 1 credit hour upon satisfactory completion of the course. Registration packets will be available by the adjunct professor, Monika Aune, to complete in person at training. The registration packet has a payment form for individuals to pay Ashland directly through debit, credit card, or check.
