From the Desk of the Directors
We wish to extend a most hearty thank you to YOU, Chatfield partners, that have been so diligent in partnering with Chatfield staff to provide the best learning opportunities for children. The partnership begins simply with sending your child to school well rested, fed, with good manners, and ready to learn. It continues with supporting your child's learning at home by providing time to read, work on math skills, and learn from new experiences. We are also thankful to everyone that partners by working in classrooms, chaperoning trips, providing transportation, coaching, and being involved in all of the school activities.
Please be involved at Chatfield this Summer! There are three special programs, the school sponsors, that are open to the community and would be great learning opportunities. These events include Meet Up, Read Up and Eat Up, Ecology Camps, and Family Gardening Evenings! Please see the details in this newsletter. There are other community sponsored programs available to students through the Lapeer Art Council, Lapeer County ISD, and Lapeer Rec Center.
We hope that you have a fantastic summer vacation. We will see you back on the first day of school, if not sooner, Monday, August 26, 2019 at 8:10am!

Camp LAEL
CAMP LAEL has some great summer camp opportunities! Visit the website at camplael.com or call 810.664.6795 for more information.
Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees
on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time.
