Major Parts
Consists of all the nervoes, organs, muscles and glands other than the brain and spinal cord. Links the CNS to all other parts of the body
Functions
Diencephalon - Link between cerebral hemispheres & link between the cerebrum and brain stem.
Brain Stem - Connection to spinal cord. Filters information between PMS and the rest of the brain.
Cerebellum - Control of balance and equilibrium.
Disorders in the Nervous System
Alzheimer's disease destroys memory and other important mental functions. Some symptoms of this are loosing track, trouble finding the right words,depression,anxiety and more.Treatment for this are cholinesterase inhibitors,memantine, and exercise.
