Veteran's Day Celebrations
Janitell and Watson Junior High Schools held their Veteran's Day Assemblies honoring all the military men and women in our community through music and speech. Widefield Elementary hosted a Veteran's Day Breakfast.
FLL El Paso County Qualifier Results
The FIRST LEGO League El Paso County Qualifier took place on November 10 at Janitell Junior High. Special thanks to all the teams, coaches, volunteers, parents, and support staff for making the day a huge success. Here are some highlights from WSD3:
- Venetucci Team 2 qualified for the state competition in December
- Venetucci Team 2 took 2nd Place in Core Values (teamwork)
- Venetucci coaches Shelly Clemens and Tuesday Garcia won the Coaches/Mentor Award
- Widefield Elementary too 2nd Place in Robot Performance (number of missions completed)
- King Team 1 took 2nd Place in Robot Design
Parent Fall Feast
Students in the SSN and WISC center-based programs hosted a Fall Feast for parents at Widefield High School before the holiday break. The students had a great time preparing the non-bake cookies for the feast, and the families enjoyed eating a delicious meal and spending time together.

MRHS Link Crew Gives Back
Link Crew members at Mesa Ridge High School decorated 50 brown bags for Project Angel Heart. The bags will be used for delivery of food to families being supported by Project Angel Heart.
Transportation Coloring Contest
As part of School Bus Safety Awareness month, the Widefield School District 3 Transportation Safety Committee held a poster drawing contest for all elementary students in first through fifth grade. On Thursday, the safety team presented the winners with awards which included a plaque and a $50 gift card to Walmart. Congratulations to the following winners:

Dracula Draws Crowds
