A Message from your Principal, Mrs. Susan Boyer

Happy August WAVA Families!

I hope that your summer has been filled with health, relaxation and lots of fun summer activities. As we head into August there are a few things that you can do to prepare for school this Fall.

First, remember to keep focusing on fun and relaxation! We will all jump right into learning when school starts on September 2nd. New student orientation is September 1st. If you are a new WAVA student, this is a must attend.

As you start to think about school, think about your learning space. It is important to set up a dedicated schooling space. Think about where you will do your learning. Is it away from distractions like TV’s and toys? Does it help you and your student to set the stage and focus on learning? Is there a space for your school books and supplies?

School books from K12 will be shipped soon if you have not already received them. As you get them work on taking them out. Organize them and make sure you explore them. There are a lot of materials in the boxes and it is good for you and your student to look them over so you are familiar with them and ready to dive into learning once you get started with your teacher on September 2nd.

Live classes at WAVA Elementary are key to being successful. Weekly and daily class schedules will depend on your student’s academic needs. Please plan to school each day—both online and offline (including live classes with your teacher) Monday through Friday from 9am-3pm. Live classes for students can change as learning needs change throughout the school year. Please try to keep all outside school appointments before 9am or after 3pm throughout the week. Attending live classes in very important and should have priority. If you have multiple students at WAVA be sure to share that with the different teachers so that they can help to support you and your students.

Keep enjoying your summer and we will see you very soon! If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Best,

Susan Boyer
