National Green Week
During the week April 18th, Reynolds School celebrated National Green Week. It was a very exciting event at Reynolds School this year. Senora Cook and Ms. Welch, with the help of the Green Week Committee, planned excited lessons for each day.
The week was filled with exciting special events. Special thanks to the PTO for sponsoring a concert with Grammy winning artist, Tom Chapin and his band. Mrs. Jarvis taught the students many of his songs in advance of the show. He was so impressed that they were able to sing along and sign may of his songs. Mrs. Jarvis even got to join them on stage for a song.
We also want to thank the USREF for sponsoring an art workshop by Michael Albert for our Kindergarten students. They enjoyed creating rockets from recycled cereal boxes.
In addition, The Saddle River Garden Club was so supportive throughout the week. They secured donations for every child to go home with their own vegetable plant and coordinated with the Shade Tree Commission so that we could plant a new tree as a school community on Earth Day.
The week was educational and fun for all of our students. We are so grateful to our amazing committee and our generous community organizations for making it a week that we will always remember!
Art Show
The Reynolds and Bogert Art Show is scheduled for May 26th from 4:00-6:00 pm. The art show will include work from all Reynolds students K-2. All are invited to attend the celebration. A special thank you to Mrs. Rockwell for coordinating this very special event. We look forward to seeing you there!
Field Trip Adventures
Both first and second graders will be visiting the Turtleback Zoo this month. Since our second grade students didn't get to attend this traditional first grade field trip last year, we planned for both grade levels to attend this year. We are hoping for great weather for both trips!
Spring Concerts
April began with the sound of beautiful songs filling our school. The kindergarten students performed their show, “We Are Family” and the second graders performed “Changemakers!” It was wonderful to be able to welcome families in to watch the shows! We are looking forward to our first grade show, "Songs for the Children" this month.
