BEST BUDDIES FRIENDSHIP PROGRAM
Roberto Clemente Middle School has a Best Buddies Friendship Program and we hope that your child is able to join our efforts in making our school a more inclusive place. For those of you who are unfamiliar, Best Buddies is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
One-to-one friendships will be established between students with and without disabilities and if your child decides to participate, it is expected that they commit to that friendship for the entirety of the school year. By forming and supporting one-to-one friendships, RCMS Best Buddies is helping to create a place of belonging, comfort, and fun for students with and without IDD. By matching students with disabilities with their peers, the Best Buddies program strives to eliminate social isolation and provide engaging and integrated events and activities with the leadership of teachers and students.
To become a buddy, your child will need to submit a membership application that comes with a section for parent consent. Go online to https://forms.bestbuddies.org/4895599 and complete your application.

SCHOOL CASH ONLINE
CURRENT CLEMENTE MS PARENT/GUARDIAN SchoolCash Online REGISTRATIONS: 41.5%
WOW, we crushed our 38% goal last week!! THANK YOU to all of you who have set up your parent/guardian accounts!
Have you registered for SchoolCash Online (SCO) yet?
Parents/guardians can register now at: https://mcpsmd.schoolcashonline.com/
Can’t find your student’s PIN to add them to your account?
On August 15th & 16th and September 5th & 6th, MCPS sent emails providing student PINs to each parent/guardian’s preferred email address on file. Please be sure to check your email for the MCPS message sent to you on those dates.
Still don’t see the email from MCPS?
Please contact Ms. Beth Shull, School Financial Specialist, or our Main Office at 301-284-4750.
Fun Facts:
- SCO is NOT related to school cafeteria accounts. The PIN needed to add your student to your SCO account is a one-time-only PIN, separate from your student’s lunch PIN!
- ALL payments to RCMS for school-related fees (fundraisers, field trips, obligations, etc.) will be processed through SCO!
- SCO eliminates the need for our hardworking teachers to process money collected from each student because each payment is sent directly to the school’s bank account!
- Once registered, you will be immediately informed about school activities via SCO emails!
- SCO allows all users to make purchases online using a credit card or e-check!
- Prices include processing fees, regardless of the type of payment, so everyone pays the same amount!
