A Principal's Perspective
I saw this graphic (see below) from Don Epps, Royster Middle School Principal in Kansas. My hope for our school as we work towards the end of school finish line is that we remember our why, our purpose for being an educator. Focusing on our purpose will keep the passion for what we do alive and well even when we are tired, frazzled from a jam packed calendar and sometimes can't see that finish line.
I was thinking about this graphic when I was finishing my last round of tabata exercises. Yes, I know I should have been thinking about my form or finishing strong on those sit ups! Tabata is a high-intensity interval training consisting of specific 20/30 seconds on and 10 seconds off on a particular exercise. Usually we do 8 rounds of one exercise and then move to another exercise for 8 rounds. Normally we choose 5 different exercises such as sit-ups, angry penguins, burpees, wall sits, etc. Sometimes, I think I just can't do the rounds especially on the 5th exercise, 8th round. But, the best feeling is pushing through and successfully finishing!
I hope that we all have that feeling at 12:45 on May 24th! That day will be here before you know it. We can push through successfully remembering our purpose and drawing upon our passion!
Be innovative - Design the possibilities!
Donna

CSISD Campus SUB Incentive
The district has outlined a campus sub incentive plan to hopefully decrease the sub demand across the district. Please see proposed plan below. The plan will begin in January
Each month, campuses will have an opportunity to earn $1,000 for the highest rate of staff attendance
Sick leave and district required activities are excluded
There will be a winner for both Elementary (PK-4) and Secondary (5-12) each month
Campus staff will have input on how to use the money - get creative!
