STUDENT LEARNING
action item
MOTION: APPROVED
That the Board of Education approve the Curriculum Equity Audit as submitted.
In August of 2020, the Board adopted a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policy that directs the District to design and implement a curriculum to embrace and support diversity and cultural competence within our learning community. District 25 subsequently issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to ten professionals/firms for a Curriculum Equity Audit, and the District received one proposal. After checking references, District Administration recommends an agreement with Public Consulting Group, LLC (PCG) to conduct this audit of our K-8 Literacy curriculum, K-8 Social Studies curriculum, and the Library Media Center collections to ensure they reflect the diversity of students and families in our community.
The final phase of the audit is projected to be completed by January 2022.

action items
MOTION: APPROVED
Additional Middle School Cross Country Coach Stipends
Currently, the District utilize two Cross Country Coach positions at each middle school. These two coaches supervise and support upwards of 180 students at each middle school because cross country involves 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. If they were stationary in a gym it would be easier to manage and supervise like a basketball, poms, cheerleading, or volleyball team. However, this sport requires extensive running which we believe demands more supervision and coaching support.
The District recommended that the Board approve two additional stipend positions so that each middle school can have up to three Cross Country Coach stipends moving forward.

Superintendent Contract Amendment
The Personnel Department noticed a typographical error in the Superintendent Contract that was approved at the June 10, 2021 meeting. The $7,864 payment that is made instead of the Board's payment for insurance was transposed in the contract to read $7,684. An amendment was presented to the Board to correct this typographical error so that the contract reflects the correct annual amount of $7,864.
