Family Resource Center
Welcome El Verano families we are very excited about being here at EV! My name is Betzy Chavez, and I am the Family Resource Center Director. Mario Castillo, Family Resource Center Parent Engagement Coordinator; Ana Rios, Parent University Coordinator, and Suzie Radillo, Garden Coordinator. Ten years ago, Maite Iturri, our amazing principal, planted the community schools concept, and with the help of Mario Castillo, formed the roots of the Family Resource Center. Today we see it’s fruits through the connections it has made with, you, our wonderful families and community. We are here to serve you. Our focus is the success of your children. Our goal is to work closely with the EV community, AND YOU, to achieve this. Please don’t hesitate to call or stop in- you will be happy you did. We have case managers that assist with Cal-Fresh, Med-ical, housing, and other essential needs. Soon we will offer English Triple P parenting classes, after school tutoring, and Mental Health support. We are working on offering Spanish classes as well. Every month we send out a Calendar with detailed information about our programing. Please look for a calendar that looks like this… We are always looking for amazing parent volunteers who seek leadership training. The fact that you are here tonight is a huge testament to your commitment to your child's education. We understand the value and the impact it makes in your child’s academic performance and experience when you are an active parent. Please come see us we have lots for you to get involved in. Lastly, come visit us in room 31 for any questions or need of support -we will make sure we help you in the right direction. All are welcome! Thank you!
