Thank you in advance for helping to continue this tradition for our students!

Last HSA Meeting - Volunteer Appreciation

We would like to take some time during our final HSA meeting of the year to show our appreciation to the committee chairs and parent volunteers who have worked hard all year long to make possible all of the activities and events enjoyed by the Vernfield students and their families.

Please join us on Monday, May 6 at 7 pm in the Library for some treats as we look back over all that the HSA has accomplished this year with your help!

Philadelphia Union Game Fundraiser

We are only week away from the Union game dates for Vernfield!

Choose from: May 4th at 7:30 pm OR May 18th at 7:30 pm. (On May 4, for an additional fee, sleep over and get soccer training in the morning!)

Tickets may be purchased at, and a small portion of the ticket sales will benefit the Home & School.

Spring Book Fair - Volunteers Needed!

Reading Phils Ticket Book Fundraiser Update

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED! The HSA raised $730 so far from the ticket book sales!

Ticket books and prize vouchers were mailed so anyone who ordered by the March 30th deadline should have received them. The date for the Ultimate Fan Experience has not yet been finalized but they will contact everyone who qualified as soon as it has been scheduled.

The Reading Phils are still taking orders for ticket books - 6 general admission tickets for $27 - and Vernfield will still receive $10 for each book sold. You can order online here

Committee Chairs Needed

A few HSA Events and Activities Committees are still looking for Chairs or Co-chairs for next year.

Literacy DVD - needs a co-chair for grades K through 2. Nora Shurtz will continue as co-chair and will be handling recordings for grades 3 through 5.

Earth Day - could still use 1 person to chair along with Meg Dick and Erin Wascavage.

Prime Time Reading - needs at least 1 person, preferably 2 people to chair. The Chair from the last 2 years, Katie Ross, has all of the forms and information you will need and will be available to answer questions along the way.

Anyone who needs more information or wants to volunteer for a position, please contact Lisa Hovind at

Vernfield Elementary is currently hiring a playground/cafeteria aide. The position will last through the end of this school year.
