A Time to Celebrate, Update, and Communicate!

"A mentor empowers a child to see a possible future, and to believe it can be obtained."

Important Dates, Reminders, Events, News, & Celebrations!

* 2015 Huddlebrations! Please mark your calendar for our two Huddlebrations in 2015. They will take place on Thursday, February 19 and Thursday, May 7, each at 6:30pm in the cafeteria. These are wonderful times for Home Teams to connect, share stories of celebration, and build community.

* Better Together- Mark your calendar to join other MENT2BE coaches on Tuesday, January 13 at 6:30pm on the Stephens campus as we share feedback on the MENT2BE experience. Your insight is super valuable as we will dialogue to affirm things that are working well, network and share ideas with other coaches, and seek ways and steps that will bring even greater growth, health, and impact to the MENT2BE journey.

* New Coaches Needed! If you have people in your unique circle of influence that you believe would be a great fit to serve as a MENT2BE coach, please connect them to me at We have students on a waiting list and are adding coaches almost weekly. There will also be a MENT2BE informational gathering on Monday, December 15 at 6:30pm in the library at Stephens (attending the session commits them to nothing). They may sign up using the following link:

* Share Your Stories - Please share with me your stories of celebration, impact, and connection that are taking place in your mentoring relationships. These stories encourage others to join us in making a difference and remind all of us of the opportunity we have to make ripples in the lives of young people.

* In The News! The Community Recorder did a very nice story on MENT2BE and featured one of our amazing Home Teams (a home team is the Coach, Player, and parents of Player), consisting of Coach Paula, her Player, Emma, and Emma's mom, Darcy. They are an amazing example of a Home Team working beautifully together in partnership to encourage a child! Here is the link to the article:

MENT2BE Featured at Innovation Luncheon

On Tuesday, October 21, MENT2BE was invited to join many other schools in sharing and celebrating innovative approaches to teaching and learning across the Boone County school district. The Boone County Education Foundation hosts this Celebration of Innovation Luncheon and Mr. Caddell was joined by Coaches Greg Baker and
Paula McPeake, Player Emma, and parent Darcy Dierig. It was an honor to share the vision of MENT2BE with school and community leaders.
