CTE Visits IT
Career Technical Education students who have been taking technology courses this year visited Nassau County School District's IT Department. Students learned about the various aspects that keep our District technology operating and the job opportunities within the technology field. The students participated in an interactive panel discussion with the Hardware Technician, Technical Manager, Digital Classroom Support, Technology Engineers, and the Director of Technology Systems.
Michael McGahee, a Systems Engineer, shared details about his typical workday and his journey from college to a Hardware Technician to Systems Engineer. David Watkins, a Systems Engineer, guided students through the day-to-day monitoring of District-wide systems and how systems are backed up.
Constitution Bowl Winners
Nick Emerson, Robert Cooke, Logan Roughton, and Bethany Kear from Yulee High School were the 2022 Constitution Bowl winners!
1st Grade Carnival
Yulee Primary School's 1st graders worked hard reviewing various skills. They earned tickets for staying focused and using their strategies. Then, they used their tickets at the 1st Grade Carnival. They played various games and won prizes.
Eggs-celent Math
Mrs. Fleming's first-graders at Yulee Primary School completed a fun Easter-themed math computation review. She hid 18 eggs with an addition or subtraction computation problem inside each one. The students had to go on an Easter egg hunt and record the problems on their recording sheet. Afterward, they solved all of the problems and earned their Easter Candy when they got them all correct!
On the Hunt for Learning
Mrs. Jones's fifth-graders at Yulee Elementary had a test prep Easter egg hunt to incorporate Easter fun and learning. Eggs were filled with test prep questions for reading and science, and students were paired up and went on a "hunt" for eggs.
Supporting Each Other
Teachers and staff found creative ways to support their students during state testing.
