Invisibility
What does it mean to be invisible? By Hailey Killian
Things not seen
The "Things not seen" novel has a lot to do with invisibility. First, Bobby was just living a normal teenage life when one day he woke up invisible. In the text it states " I think I am I mean,I see the mirror, I see my towel wave through the air, I see the shower curtain jump when I punch at it. But I don't see me." I infer Bobby was nervous at first because he didn't know what was happening at first and didn't know how he would get back to normal. I bet he would think that everything was over for him like he can't go back to school, cant talk to friends, can't go out like a normal teenager would. But meanwhile, he finds a friend who is blind which can relate to being invisible. I say this because in the text it states "People would only look at me for a second and then look away, they never look twice." So, i feel this ties in with invisibility because Bobby and Alicia both, are invisible by the world around them.

“Homeless Children” article
By reading the "Homeless Children" article I have realized that many of these children are very much invisible to the people surrounding them. No one even realizes what they are going through. They probably can't afford an education either. These children are at ages 4-12 and they probably don't know what its like to have a place called home. In the text it states "1.1 million school children do not have a fixed address." And I feel that no one is making a different, I say this because in the text it states " The U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) counts the number of families living on the street, in shelters or in cars at a specific point in time, coming up with a total of about 138,149 homeless children." People should realize that many of these children feel invisible about this situation, and that it could affect the child when he/she gets older.

Sources from Gallery Walk
While looking through the sources from the gallery walk attended in class, I have strongly realized it had a lot to do with invisibility. Such as the poem we have chosen. It states "When I was young someone asked what superpower do you wish for? no hesitation-I replied invisibility i grew up realizing it came true." This firmly states that this unknown person has had a passion of being invisible as a superpower meanwhile, realizing it has came true along his/her life. In this way, he/she is not referring to the superpower. He/she is referring to being invisible to the people surrounding him/her. The last source chosen, was a video clip. It clearly showed how this lady was facing some rough times being homeless and because of that it probably lowered her self confidence due to how many people treat her knowing that she is somewhat invisible. Due to this lack of sympathy from other people in this world made me recognize that many people aren't "visible" to other people and could be treated differently such as invisibility.
