Barbara Bush Bucks School Store
Bush Elementary is hosting our new Bush Bucks School Store each month, and we are in need of donations for our store. You can purchase and bring items to the front office or ship them directly to the school. Our Bush Bobcats earn their Bush Bucks to shop in our school store by following school wide expectations, being good citizens, and exhibiting great character traits. If not purchased through the Amazon link please bring it to the front office.

Reporting Student Absences
To report an absence for your child, do one of the following:
- Call our attendance line at 936-709-1610 and leave a message stating your child’s name, reason for the absence, person reporting the absence, and a phone number.
- Email the registrar – firstname.lastname@example.org with your student’s absence information.
When your child returns to school, a note explaining the absence should be brought to their teacher, front office, or the attendance office.
Transportation changes must be made in writing before 2:00 PM. We cannot accept transportation changes by phone. To submit a transportation change, you may send a written note to your child's teacher or provide a not to the front office with the following information:
- the date
- your child's full name
- homeroom teacher
- bus number (if applicable)
- your signature
If an emergency arises, you may send an email to email@example.com. The e-mail must include all of the above information and must be received before 2:00 PM. If you submit a transportation change by email, it must go to the email address referenced above. Teachers do not check their email regularly throughout the day, so transportation changes should not be emailed directly to the teacher. Please send a new note for each day the change occurs; we cannot accept notes for multiple days or with multiple changes. District policy states that a student may only ride the bus they are registered to ride; students may not have a transportation change to ride a different bus.

Gifted & Talented Information
Referral requests are now open for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January, referral requests are accepted at this time. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or campus staff. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher. Referrals will be accepted October 3- December 16, 2022. You may request a referral form from the front office or the Assistant Principal (Brooke McCoy firstname.lastname@example.org). You can also find the referral form and other GT information on the CISD GT homepage linked here.
CISD Food Drive
Conroe ISD is partnering with the Montgomery County Food Bank during the month of October for a district-wide food drive.
Most needed items include healthy snacks, peanut butter, cereal, juice, grains, ready-to-eat meals, and canned items such as beans, vegetables, fruit, and tuna.
Items may be dropped off at campuses during the school day. Please visit mcfoodbank.org for a list of needed items or to make a donation.

We are in need of volunteers to assist with our morning Carline and Moveable Minutes. Carline is from 7:30-8:30 and you can simply report to the front ramp and assist. We LOVE the help!
For Moveable Minutes, each morning between 7:30-8:10, students of a particular grade are able to have some extra morning activity before school begins while their teachers meet as a team. You can assist with any grade level, but if you are interested in attending when your student is participating, the schedule is as follows: Mondays - 2nd; Tuesdays - 4th; Wednesdays - 3rd; Thursdays - KG; Fridays - 1st
Please remember when volunteering inside the building, you will need to check in at the front desk with your driver’s license. Click here to sign up.

The safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance. Over the past decade, Conroe ISD has spent millions of dollars on a layered approach to campus safety including the installation of secure entrances and vestibules along with adding security cameras throughout our schools. Our greatest safety measure, however, is vigilance. Please report any suspicious activity or suspected dangers to the appropriate authorities. Anonymous reports may be made 24/7 to Conroe ISD’s KidChat hotline at 1-888-KidChat (543-2428) or through our new Anonymous Alerts app. Login: conroeisd
