A Message from Mrs. Katkocin ❤️
Dear Scotland Families,
Happy Monday! I hope you stayed cool during this hot weekend!! It was wonderful seeing our hallways filled with families during our Art Show & Book Fair on Thursday evening! Congratulations to Mrs. Kounnas for a wonderful show filled with many different, beautiful pieces of artwork! A very special thank you to Jessica Hinkley for organizing and running our Spring Book Fair, and to all of the parents who volunteered throughout the week! It was so heartwarming to see so many people enjoying the evening together at Scotland. Thank you to all who made this possible!
A huge congratulations to our 5th graders who partnered with Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield at the Little Doctors Blood Drive! Together, they were able to collect 101 pints of blood! Thank you to all who participated and supported this great cause!
As you did earlier this year, kindly send your child to school with a towel, as we will make every effort to have students eat outside for lunch, weather permitting. Towels can remain in the classroom, as to not make backpacks too cumbersome daily. On days when the weather does not allow for students to eat outside, we will continue to use our cafeteria.
Please also make sure you pack your child a water bottle each day. We are running low on bottled water in the main office, and want to be sure that students have access to water as needed. As a part of our health and safety measures, our water fountains continue to be disabled, but the bottle fillers remain available to students throughout the day.

To ensure all students go home safely, we are tightening up the dismissal procedure for After School Enrichment. Students will be seated with their classes in the cafeteria. Parents must sign out EACH child (siblings need to be signed out individually) with the attendance teacher. Please DO NOT take your child before they have been signed out. Please be PATIENT. The dismissal teacher will move as quickly as possible.
