Important Message About Vaping
There has been a significant increase in vaping incidents among our students in recent weeks. This is a trend that we simply cannot ignore, as it poses serious health risks and can lead to addiction.
Our school has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to vaping and other substance use on campus, and we take these matters very seriously. We are doing everything in our power to address this issue, including educating our students about the dangers of vaping. However, the message appears to be missing the mark for some of our students. Also, vaping is very difficult to catch due to the possibility of being smokeless and odorless. The vape itself can be quite small and can easily be hidden.
Our staff is doing what we can, but we need your help in addressing this problem. We urge you to talk to your children about the risks of vaping and the importance of making healthy choices. We also encourage you to monitor your child's behavior and look out for any signs of vaping, such as unusual smells or behavior. Randomly checking your child’s backpack or bedroom for vapes would also be a good idea if you suspect that they might be vaping.
We understand that this may be a difficult conversation to have, but it is crucial that we work together to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. You will find a link and two other resources attached below that you may find helpful in addressing the vaping issue with your child.
Thank you for your attention to this matter as we work together to keep our students healthy and safe.

Laptop Breakage
We have seen a rise in the amount of screen breaks for student laptops. Our policy covers for 2 broken screens per device. If your child’s laptop screen breaks 3 times, we will be required to send you an invoice for the repair and labor. The current cost for this is $200. Please remind your child to care for their laptops. Some simple steps to assist are:
- Use two hands when holding or moving the device.
- Use clean hands while using the laptop or iPad.
- Use only the provided digital pen or finger on the screen.
- Use only the power adapter that came with the device.
- Use a microfiber cloth to clean the screen.
- Keep device stored in the provided case. This includes traveling through the hallways, on buses, or anytime the device is not being utilized.
- Make sure nothing is on the keyboard, close the lid, and remove all cables if any are plugged into the laptop. Place laptop in your bag carefully.
- Be careful when placing your case on the floor. Keep the device off the floor so screens do not get stepped on by others.
