Where Learning Takes Flight
A Note from Mrs. Tallent
This week is Red Ribbon Week! Please look at the flier below for details about dress up days. Then on the 31st we will have our Storybook Character Parade. We look forward to having parents join us for this event! Please see the information below so you know where to park and where to stand for the parade.
Parent/Teacher conferences are right around the corner! We hope that you walk away this experience knowing what strengths your child has, how they have been involved in setting goals for themselves and how you can support them at home. The partnership we have with parents is crucial to students growing throughout the year both social emotionally and academically. If there is anything we can do to continue to support your child along their educational journey, please let us know!
We will kick off the beginning of November with Cardinal County Fair on November 5th. We hope to see everyone there!

Lockdown Practice Drill
As we shard last week, we were able to conduct our Lockdown Drill on October 18th. Prior to the drill teachers talked with students about what to expect, which is our common practice on campus for all drills we conduct. Our students did a great job! We will be debriefing with our staff during our next PLC rotation to ensure that we are fine tuning our practices and answering any questions our staff may have. It is always important for us to reflect and make adjustments as needed. As always if you have any questions regarding our drills or safety practices on campus, please contact Mrs. Tannisha Oyeniyi or Mrs. Tallent!
Fire Safety and Coloring Contest
As we are talking about safety, it is important that our kiddos know 2 ways out in the event of a house fire. The Harris County Fire Marshall Office is getting the word out and conducting a coloring contest. Please consider participating in the "Fire Won't Wait. Plan Your Escapes" contest and take this opportunity to talk to your children about escape routes and meeting location in the event of a fire.

Lost and Found
We can tell that we've had some cold weather because our Lost and Found is starting to fill up with jackets and coats! Please take a moment when you are on campus to stop by and look to see if any of your child's lost items are there! We do our best to look for names on items and deliver those back to students. If the item doesn't have a name on it, it goes into the lost and found. We will probably clean out the lost and found when everyone leaves for Thanksgiving Break. This will give students and families and opportunity on Conference Day (Nov. 1st) and Thanksgiving Feast Days to look for lost items. Items that have not been claimed by then will be donated. Parents feel free to check in a the front office any morning and go check the lost and found it needed!

Texas Roadhouse Spirit Night!
Support our school by joining us at Texas Roadhouse! Please note they will no longer collect receipts. Show the server the dine-to-donate flyer, and they will scan the barcode. Servers will also have their own copies of the flyer if needed. Please make sure to tell your server about the FCE spirit night, so we receive credit. For curbside orders, you can enter the barcode number in as a coupon code and it will apply to the order. If you forget to enter the coupon code, ask a staff member to scan the barcode for you. Hope to see you there!
