A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents & Guardians,
I want to thank everyone that helped to support Tuscarora and our PTA by participating in our October Fest that was held on Saturday, October 27th. A big thank you goes out to the staff members that worked together to plan activities for the afternoon and to the PTA for coordinating the event. We had over 200 students & parents attend October Fest! We are so blessed to have such amazing people working for and with our school. THANK YOU!
We have some important dates that you should be aware of for the month of November. The week of November 5th-9th, will be College Application & Exploration Week. Students at Tuscarora will be participating in a classroom door decorating contest as one of the activities for the week. The winning class will receive a pizza party from Miss Demory! On November 6th &12th, there will be NO SCHOOL for students and staff in honor of Election Day & Veterans Day. Lastly, From November 21-23 there will be NO SCHOOL for students due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

WHEN MAY STUDENTS RETURN AFTER AN ILLNESS?
- Fever free for the past 24 hours without the use of a fever-reducing medication such as, Tylenol or Motrin.
- No vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours.
- After at least 24 hours of antibiotic therapy for bacterial illnesses such as, strep throat, pneumonia, etc.
- Cold symptoms are mild enough to not interfere with your child's ability to participate in the activity of a normal school day. Please remember that cold medications, including cough drops cannot be given to students by school staff without a doctor's order.
- If your child was home with a rash, they may return to school when the rash is resolved, or with a doctor's note stating that they are not contagious to other students or staff.
- If your child's doctor has prescribed a medication that will need to be given during the school day, please remember that an order from the doctor is necessary.
- During your child's doctor visit, please remember to obtain a sick note so your child will be medically excused upon return to school.
