Happy 2021!!
Proverbs 3:5-6
Welcome Back!
We hope you all had a restful and joyous Christmas holiday!
The children's recorded messages for the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Services were wonderfully done. The students and the teachers put in a lot of work preparing for the service and God blessed our efforts. The children did a good job of telling the story of our Savior’s birth to family and friends. The songs, recitations, and narrations were nicely done. A special thanks to the pastors and teachers for making adjustments this year in order for this tradition to continue. If you were not able to attend either of these services at Salem Lutheran Church, please visit our YouTube channel and enjoy the services through the recordings.
End of Second Semester
We finished our second grading period on January 6th. Report cards were sent home on Monday, January 11th. You can view your child’s grades online at www.jupitered.com. Each student has a personal login and password. Please contact the school office if you need any help with the website or need your password reset.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
February 11th is our Parent-Teacher Conference Day. We will send home sign-up sheets for the conferences soon. Students will be dismissed at 11:30 am that day.
Mission:
We will continue collecting missions offerings for Costa Maya Ministries until the end of the school year. To see their mission needs or to donate directly, please visit their website (https://costa-maya-ministries.square.site/) by clicking on the link below.
Appropriate Dress
Colder weather and snow is here. Please be sure to send your child to school with the appropriate outdoor wear. Coats, hats, gloves or mittens, and boots are required to participate in outdoor recess.
Please be sure your child has a dry pair of shoes for indoors as they may not wear their boots inside. If a child does not have these items with them, they may have to stay inside at recess time.
Gym/P.E. Time
Please make sure that your child wears (or brings) a pair of non-marking soled shoes for their daily time in the gym. Ideally, send a pair of shoes designated for gym use. Tennis shoes are preferred, but not mandatory, as long as the shoes themselves are non-marking.
Black soled shoes/boots leave long, black streaks on the wax floor. Mr. Fuller takes great pride in his gym floor and we want to do what we can to keep it looking nice.
Thank you.
Feelin’ Good Mileage Club
Just like last year, you must sign your child up for your child to participate. Please go to www.sparrowmilesclub.com to register. Registration begins February 1st. You have the entire month of February to register. The deadline for entry is March 4th.
Information regarding class participation times will be sent home in February.
Winter Athletics
Our Michigan Athletic Lutheran League (MALL) has decided to schedule boy's basketball season for later in the school year. The decision was made based on the current restrictions and how they will affect our players and spectators. We also want to do every we can to keep our students, staff, and families safe. We will continue to share any additional information regarding our athletic schedule.
