Bulldog Pantry
This semester, we have opened the Bulldogs Care Pantry to assist members of our school community in need of support with basic needs. Our pantry will allow students and parents to request items on an emergency basis. Beth Kujath, our school's social worker, will work to connect families to community pantries but know that is not always possible due to transportation or pantry hours.
Assistance can be requested at any time through the link: https://forms.office.com/r/NJL0vw4d6u
Pantry items will be sent home with students at the end of the school day or can be picked up at a prearranged time with Ms. Kujath. Requests can be made for shelf stable food or basic hygiene products. We do not offer items that need to be refrigerated or frozen.
Want to donate? Donations will be accepted anytime. Please drop them off at the front office or with the school social worker. We are always looking for quick meals, canned items or basic hygiene products. We do ask for items that are not expired or pre-used. We appreciate any support provided to the Bulldogs Care Pantry.

7th & 8th Grade Dance: Wed., Feb. 22nd
3:15 to 4:30 PM
Beveridge will have a 7th and 8th grade dance on Wednesday, February 22nd after school. The dance will take place in the Beveridge Gym from 3:15 - 4:30 PM. We are very excited to host this activity for our students. Students will have to pay $1 or 3 PAWS Applause tickets to get into the dance. We want to recognize and celebrate students demonstrating Beveridge Ready Expectations on a daily basis. In order for students to be eligible to attend the dance, the following criteria must be met:
Starting on Tuesday, January 17th through Wednesday, February 22nd:
- Students must have no unexcused tardies to class, including Advisory, Busing and Medical Appointments are excused
- Students must have no Lunch Detentions or After School Detentions
- Students must have no In School Suspensions
- Students must have no Out of School Suspensions
Students must have a signed permission slip from their parent/guardian to attend. Students should be picked up at 4:30 PM from the dance. We will also try to arrange Late Bus transportation for students who are eligible for transportation for those students who may need this option. We will need to know in advance who will need transportation home.
We are looking for families to donate cases of water to Beveridge for the dance. We will be selling snacks, pizza and water at the dance to support Beveridge Paws Applause and our 8th Grade end of year activities. If you are able to donate a case of water, or any other snacks or candy, please drop all donations off to Beveridge. Please bring them to our Front Security Office on the north side of the school between now and February 22nd.
Again, this is an extra-curricular activity and students must meet the expectations for attending the dance listed above. Please encourage your student to display Beveridge Ready Behavior daily. We appreciate your support and look for more information in the coming weeks.

As we approach 2023 together, we are ever-mindful of the future for our Bulldogs - both what is happening for our 8th graders, and who will be attending from our Elementary schools. Please take note of the following OPS High School Open houses. You won't want to miss the opportunity to go the buildings, tour the facilities, meet teachers to get acquainted with programs, and see what our schools have to offer the class of 2027!

- Thursday, January 26th: Northwest High School, 6:00 to 8:00 PM
High School Selection Process
Dear families of 8th graders, High School Selection Forms were given to students in Advisory. Your child’s High School Selection Form is due to Beveridge by January 27, 2023! Students who do not complete a High School Selection Form will automatically be placed at their Neighborhood School, however, we would like all students to return their form. This is the chance for each 8th grader to declare their choice. If you have lost your form, you can get a new one from Ms. Francis. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Francis (kacey.francis@ops.org) or Student Placement at 531-299-0302 or studentplacement@ops.org.

Walsworth will ship the yearbooks on May 13th. We will receive our yearbooks May 19th—a week before the last day of school.
TEAM FLAGS
Each grade level consists of two teams where teachers collaborate to support the growth of their students. Their collaboration is evident with their team flags. Way back in August, before school even began, we worked to develop our Team DNA:
Dreams: What do we hope our students learn? What are our goals for our students?
Needs: What do we need from each other to be successful?
Abilities: What are you AMAZING at? How will you contribute that to the team?
These questions led to some great conversations and creativity. Below are the pictures of each teams' flags and their expression of their team DNA. Next time you visit Beveridge look for the flags throughout our halls!
OPS Inclement Weather Procedures
Weather Procedures
On a Remote Learning Day, students will use their district iPad to work with teachers and classmates online. Elementary students will be in session from 9 – 11 a.m. Middle and high school students will be in session from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. Students should bring their iPad home each day and make sure it is charged.
Whenever possible, our district will announce changes to a daily routine the night before. However, we know weather conditions and other emergencies can develop rapidly and a decision the morning of a school day may be necessary. When that happens, we will communicate as early as possible in the morning.
We will follow our communication routines. If weather, power outages or other circumstances force a change to our normal day, we will communicate directly with all staff and families. That communication will be through email, text message and phone call. Families should ensure their contact information is current in Infinite Campus. We will also share the information on our website and through local media.

Accessing Parent Portal
The Parent Portal is a service offered to parents and guardians for accessing student records including attendance, grades and missing assignments. The service allows parents and guardians to access information about ALL of their students through one convenient website.
This is a great way for you to see what assignments your students have turned in and what assignments they haven't turned in yet. You will also be able to see the specific grade your student earned for the assignment once the teacher has entered the grade for it. Please click on the attachment below for directions on accessing the Parent Portal. If you need any support with this, please contact our front office staff at 531-299-2280.
Student Drop Off and Pick up Areas for Parents
Parent/Visitor Check In Process
Safety and security are top priorities at Beveridge. We aim to ensure that all our students and staff are safe at all times. Therefore, the following practices are in place for student sign out and visitors on campus. Individuals entering the building must follow this process to help ensure the safety of all.
When checking your student out of school early, please call the school ahead of time and request the student be in the security office for sign out at the time you need. This will avoid having you wait longer than necessary to pick up your student. If you are picking up your student during lunch, please know additional time is needed to locate your student and to assist them with getting back to their locker and classroom to pick up any belongings they may need to take home with them. Calling ahead will support us with this prior to you arriving. Please plan ahead and add some extra time for checking your student out of school.
- All parents and visitors will need to provide ID.
- Parents and visitors picking up a student from school will wait in the security office. Your student will be brought to you.
- Parents and visitors, if you are picking up an ill student, your student will remain in the Nurse's Office until you arrive. Once you arrive, the student will be escorted to the security office for check out.
- Parents and visitors wanting to meet with staff with a scheduled meeting will be escorted from the security office to the location of your meeting.
- Parents and visitors wanting to meet with staff without a scheduled meeting may be asked to schedule a meeting at another time. Staff may not be available when you arrive, and a meeting will need to be scheduled. You may be asked to leave the school until your scheduled meeting time.
Our security measures are in place to increase safety at Beveridge. Please know that all of us at Beveridge take the safety of all students, all visitors, and all staff members very seriously. We appreciate your support as we ensure all visitors follow the procedures for student sign out and visitors on campus.
To call ahead to sign your student out of school or to schedule an appointment with any staff member, please call 531-299-2280.
Weather Guidance for Prolonged Exposure
