Plessy V Ferguson
Argued April 18, 1896 Decided May 18, 1896
What is segregation?
It is the separation of individuals, putting them out of a group because of racial profiling. Segregation started to turn in the 1930's when blacks started voting for northern democrats. Even though slavery was abolished, segregation still stood.
What is the 14th ammendment?
1866 this amendment was passed that gave blacks the right of citizenship. It was passed after the war, wanting slavery to be abolished. Now the bill of rights applies to all citizens no matter what color. Everyone in America is naturally born equal with a set of rights.
