Week of February 25th- March 1st
What is happening in the classroom?
Science- This week the class should be studying for their Spaceship Earth Science test that will be on Wednesday, March 6th. There are the lesson videos on Google classroom and the questions come from the notes we took in class that is in their Science Journal.
Reading- During Reader's Workshop, the class is learning how to research multiple articles to determine their opinion on a specific topic. They are doing this in Research Club groups.
We are also continuing to read Wonder and discussing empathy towards others. They are reflecting by writing paragraphs with a main idea, details, and evidence from the text.
Writing- We are almost done with our Chocolate Milk Essay. Today, the class wrote their three body paragraphs supporting their stance on if chocolate milk should or should not be served in schools. They should have their essays completed and published next week.
Speech Contest: Next week, I will offer the opportunity for the class to participate in the speech contest. Every student will receive a permission slip with more information.

These tests are untimed. If students need more time, there will be more opportunities. Times will be determined based on the day, test, and schedule.
