This first section is different than the paper copy I sent home today!!! Please read! I didn't want the students to see it.

Project: Locker Love

I’ve never done this before, but got this crazy idea the other day that we’re going to try! I think the kids would absolutely LOVE it if their parents surprised them by decorating their lockers in some way while you are here for your parent conferences. If you want to bring your own sign, decorations, magnets, etc… you can, but I will also have some paper available here for you to write on and hang up on your child’s locker. (The dimensions of the outside of the locker that can be decorated are 6" across by 36" tall in case you want to have something pre-cut and decorated to just tape up when you get here.)

You don’t have to be fancy or feel the need to consult Pinterest and come up with anything elaborate. It’s truly the thought that counts.

I know how special it is for kids at the middle and high school when someone decorates their lockers for sports or clubs. I think the kids will think it is pretty special to be encouraged by their parents for the hard work they do at school.

Happy New Year!

Welcome back from break! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed the time off together. We have had a busy, productive week. One highlight was enjoying a special convocation at the high school with Mr. Mojo, on being kind to others and not bullying. We also launched our own 5 week Kindness Project. You'll have to ask your son/daughter about it!

Parent Conferences

Thank you all for returning your conference slips. I have created my master schedule and look forward to meeting with all of you. Be sure to be prepared with any questions you may have. We have approximately 10-15 minutes for each conference. If for some reason, you cannot make your time or are running late, please call the school and let them know so we can try to squeeze you into another spot. My goal is to talk to ALL of you! :) Thanks!

Book Order

I have attached the January Book Order. If you would like to place an order, please return your order or order online with our class code: L3VVQ by Friday, January 15th.

Guest Expert Assistance

The Guest Experts have been a wonderful opportunity for the students to learn about different careers and passions. I have tried to schedule a guest expert for each full week of school. If you are interested in being a guest expert, or know someone in your family or in the community that would be an interesting speaker, please let me know at our parent conference meeting next week.

One more favor... our guest expert next week works at the animal shelter. If you would like to make a donation of clumping kitty litter, dry puppy food, paper towels, laundry detergent, or XL rubber gloves, I would like to surprise him with some of these needs they currently have.
