Senior Project Spotlight
Senior Project class students find success with projects!
Friends' Fest 2022
Two of our Godley High School Senior Project class students, Abby and Laney Cornelius, organized and hosted "Friends' Fest 2022" at the end of January. This project allowed special needs students to have a morning full of fun activities and games that every student could participate in. Students from Cleburne, Keene, Grandview, and Godley attended and the hope is that this will become an annual event at Godley ISD. Both student said that this was a passion project and they loved making every single student feel loved and showing them that they matter!
We always love seeing how creative and impactful our Senior Projects are each year!
Godley Baseball Camp
Ryan Block and Landry McKittrick hosted and a youth baseball camp at Godley High School for their Senior Project class. Students in kindergarten through sixth grade were allowed to attend the camp. The day consisted of the kids participating in a combine that consisted of running a 60-yard dash, throwing a pull-down, and getting their exit velocity off the tee. After the combine was done, they moved to fielding, which consisted of games and fundamentals. Meanwhile, they also held a long-ball competition that required participants to hit the ball as far as they could off the tee. The winner of each grade got a certificate for the longest hit. They also awarded each grade’s "MVP". Overall, both Block and McKittrick agree that it was a very successful day and were extremely pleased with how it turned out!
