A Little About Your Teacher

My name is Korren Pugh and I am honored to serve you and your child this school year. I have a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology as well as a Master of Education from The Ohio State University. I have been in the field of education for about 18 years. I have served in the public realm for 15 years. I have taught in the upper levels, so I know where your children are headed and what they need to be prepared for. I have taught in the lower levels, so I know how important those foundations are for their futures! Through this year I hope to challenge your child to grow and thrive in a positive and engaging learning environment.

My Life Outside of School

I am married to my husband, Eric who is an associate pastor at Strawbridge United Methodist Church. We have shared life's journey together for 18 years this September. We have 3 incredible kiddos of our own, Evelyn, Belle, and Maggie. I love spending time in nature, time with my family, and learning new things! I hope to share these passions with your kiddos each day.

I'm on a Mission!

My hope for our class is to provide each kiddo who enters my door the opportunity to a diverse educational experience in a safe, supportive environment that promotes self-discipline, motivation, excellence in learning, and most of all, a heart for others. In this room I will aim to assist your children in developing the skills they need to become independent and self-sufficient learners who will succeed and contribute responsibly not only to the classroom, but the community beyond --yes, I do know they are only in 2nd grade, but to quote my favorite philosopher, "A person's a person, no matter how small."--Dr. Seuss.

Being a working parent myself, I understand the need for an open line of communication between the home and school. YOU are your child's best advocate and I need more than just your support--I need your help! Lessons learned in the classroom go further when reinforced in the home. I will do my best to communicate with you what is being covered in the classroom.

Check Back Often!

They say "a picture is worth a thousand words". I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to share pictures with you. I know how much I have appreciated the photos of my own children at various times throughout their school days that I can't be a part of. I want to share as much of this year with you as I can. They are only little once, and I want you to be able to treasure each moment. I know I do! I thank you again for the amazing privilege of teaching your child this year.
