Washington Update

Family Communicator - May 11-15, 2020

Last Day of School

The last day of school has been set as Monday, June 15th for the Washington School students.

Pandemic - P-EBT Cards

The Massachusetts Government is introducing a program to help with food costs. All students that qualify for free / reduced lunch will be receiving a Pandemic - EBT Card in the mail within the next few weeks. Families that already receive SNAP benefits will have this money added to their EBT card, rather than receiving an additional card in the mail. The card can be used for food. You should receive $5.70 per student per day for $28.50 per student per week. We believe you will get a monthly total of just under $200 per child added to this card when it first arrives. The P-EBT card can be used to buy food at stores that accept SNAP / EBT. You can buy the following items. https://www.mass.gov/files/documents/2016/08/wr/snap-eligible-foods.pdf?_ga=2.255139085.46967995.1585141848-1340380686.1579544316

Other questions related to the P-EBT cards can be found at https://www.mass.gov/info-details/pandemic-ebt-p-ebt.

The P-EBT card will be replenished, but is different for each family.

Happy Mother's Day

Although the world has changed I hope you all can find happiness in being a parent. From all of us at the Washington School, we wish you a Happy Mother's Day!

Grade 2 STEM Project

Grade 2 families can pick up A Grow an Herb project from the Washington School on Monday-Wednesday of next week. Each bag contains soil, a growing tray, recipes, and directions for planting. The kits are first come first serve and will be left in a bin on the front steps of the school. Please take one for each grade 2 student. This project was sponsored by Lowell's own Mill City Grows.

Packets - Week 8

Week 8 Packets are available on Monday, May 11th in the bin on the front steps of school for the School Week May 11th-15th starting at 11am. Please take one from the bin with your grade level drawer. Free notepads are in the bottom drawer if you need paper.

If you want to return packets, please put your child's first name, last name, and teacher name on the front of the packet and place in the bin just right of the door. A whiteboard will be there to guide you. If you have submitted packet work electronically, there is no need to return them.
