Retirements
Many of you may already know about Sue Mischler's retirement at the end of this school year. Ms. Mischler has been an amazing teacher at Pleasant View while serving our staff, students, parents, and community for over 30 years! She has done phenomenal work to continue to put students first in all that she does and we greatly appreciate her efforts and achievements in making Pleasant View a better place to learn. We wish her all the best in her retirement.
Upon Ms. Mischler's retirement, we wanted to let you know that Mr. Tony Morrissey will be joining the Pleasant View staff as one of our physical education teachers for the 2020-2021 school year! We are excited to see him join our team as he brings some recent experience while working at the middle and elementary school levels in South Milwaukee. He is thrilled to be joining our school community! Please join me in warmly welcoming Mr. Morrissey to the team when we are back.
Mrs. Rita Kohn, one of our educational assistants at Pleasant View, will be retiring at the conclusion of this school year. She has served as an educational assistant at Pleasant View and Country Dale during her 9 years in the district. We appreciate all that Rita has done for students and staff during her time in the district and wish her all the best in her retirement.

Attention 5th Grade Parents:
Wisconsin Student Immunization Law requires that all students entering the 6th grade receive a dose of Tdap vaccine. To be compliant with state law, Franklin Public Schools must be provided with proof of an immunization or a waiver must be signed.
If your child has not already received the Tdap vaccine, work with your pediatrician or primary care provider to schedule the vaccine. Many local pediatricians and family care providers will be restarting (if they haven’t already) well child appointments and will be completing necessary immunizations. Record the date of the immunization in the appropriate box on the student immunization record link below and sign the form. The state of Wisconsin allows for waivers for immunization due to health, religious, or personal conviction reasons. To do so, follow the instructions on the student immunization record and sign the form. All signed forms can be emailed, faxed or dropped off at school (when our school buildings reopen).
If you have any questions, please contact Lori O’Neil, District Nurse at lori.oneil@franklin.k12.wi.us

The Happy Home
The ES3 team would like to share a new feature with you called Happy Home. Each week we will pass along some tips to help keep your home as happy and healthy as possible during Safer at Home. ES3 is a three-year state-funded grant program with the mission of improving outcomes for students who require social and emotional support. We can ALL use social and emotional supports, especially now, so we hope you enjoy!
Deposits to Your Child’s Emotional Bank Account
Our tips this week focus on family wellness and strengthening positive relationships. A useful concept shared below encourages parents and guardians to make regular “deposits” in their child’s emotional account. This involves intentional opportunities to connect in positive ways with children throughout the day. Each time we acknowledge appropriate behavior, express appreciation, notice and praise expected behavior is a deposit and strengthens family bonds while also building a child’s self-confidence. Hello PV Families! We can't believe that our school year has come to an end already! This certainly wasn't the way we had intended things to be last fall. We are thankful that we were able to have the majority of the events that we had planned for the 19-20 school year. In regards to the Carnival being canceled, we collected all of the donations from the school, including the Jiffy Jars. They will be stored in a cool, dry place. While we still do not know how things will look for school starting next fall, we will hang onto these items, freeze what we can and discard things that have expiration dates. We will have to wait to see if and when we can return to school and resume having our PTO sponsored events. We hope to be able to use these next school year. Thank you to everyone that donated items for the Carnival. If you have questions, please send us an email at pvpto14@gmail.com.
The PTO, along with Mr. Foeckler and the staff have decided that we will not be distributing the School Supply kits this summer for the 20-21 school year. With the uncertainty of how school will be and with the economic strain this pandemic has had on families, we feel it is best to just not offer them this year. Thank you for your understanding.
And lastly, we would like to introduce our new 20-21 PTO Board!
