Toy Drive- Huge Thank you
Murphy Mavericks Community, you are superbly awesome and have the biggest hearts.
The PAL class would like to thank everyone that helped make the Murphy Toy Drive a stupendous success! We were able to collect over 240 toys for about a thousand children at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County.
Your generosity is a beacon of joy for the children. Thanks again for helping to make the holidays the merriest for the families and children in our community! Thank you for lighting up their lives and giving them cherished memories for a lifetime. You guys are the best. Your kindness and generosity are truly appreciated.
Please click Toy Drive in Review for our thank you message.
6th Grade English/Language Arts - New Books Coming!
This weekend our 6th grade English teachers purchased approximately 300 new books to help support our 6th grade students thanks to a Grant from the Plano ISD Education Foundation. It is vital to make sure our students have current and wide variety of literature in order to meet their diverse interests as well as ability levels. This grant allows our teachers to provide access to relevant literature in the consistent development of our classroom libraries.
Spring PACE Testing will be here soon. Is your student interested in participating in PACE next year? Testing for consideration to be admitted into the Plano Academic and Creative Education (PACE) program for next school year will take place next spring. Referral packets can be submitted online or on paper by Thursday, Jan. 17 to Ms. McAnderson in E105.
If you have any questions about the process please contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org. The online version will automatically send an email to her.
For more information about Advanced Academics visit https://www.pisd.edu/pace
Yearbook - Pictures Needed
Yearbook is looking for photographs of MMS students participating in their after school activities. Does you Murphy Maverick play & practice any sports (golf, tennis, soccer, horseback riding, swimming, etc.) after school? What about after school music lessons, or a chess club, or perhaps they volunteer regularly? Are they active in either Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts? We would love to show off these talents and skills in the yearbook. Please submit photographs (amatuer photos only - no professional photos due to releases) to email@example.com by Friday, December 21st. If you have previously submitted photos of your student in Off-Campus PE activities, you do not need to submit again. We thank you for your photos, which we will consider for publication in the yearbook.

Attention 6th Graders! All projects are due in the MMS library on Thursday morning of Jan. 17. All sixth graders are encouraged to enter but not mandatory. See attached for student handbook below. Students can ask their Science teacher for more information or a copy of the handbook.
Overdue Library Books
MMS Library is working to get all overdue books taken care of before the winter break. All students have received a handout identifying any overdue books. Parents should also receive a phone call through the school messenger system. Each child is encouraged to look in their locker, on the shelf in the library, lost and found, and in all of their classrooms for missing books. Please help to encourage them to look in these locations first before paying for a lost book. Thank you for your help.
