SHS Weekly Newsletter #33

5/5/23

Message from Mr. Mitchell

As always, there are lots of exciting things going on at SHS, and I want to highlight a few of the recent and upcoming events...

  • Our annual Junior/Senior Prom is this Saturday and we look forward to a fun and well-attended event. This is a milestone for students in their high school career and we want to highly encourage everyone to safely and appropriately enjoy the evening. Please remember that all tickets must be purchased by 3:45 on Friday, May 5th, the event runs from 7-10pm, we will be breathalyzing all students and searching bags at the door, there is no re-entry once a students leaves the venue. As always, this will be a memorable time for everyone involved!
  • Our third theater production of the year occurred last weekend with Beauty and the Beast being performed. A huge congratulations to the cast, orchestra, technical staff, producers, and director of the show. It was outstanding!
  • Our band recently competed at the OSAA Solo & Small Ensemble contest, where many students placed in the top three in their divisions, and our Brass Ensemble earned second place!
  • Many of our spring sports teams are wrapping up their seasons in the next week or two and will begin the playoffs immediately following the end of the regular season. Play well everyone!

Have a great weekend, and Go Bowmen!

Mr. Mitchell

- No tickets will be required for the ceremony. Gates will open for seating at 5:00pm, however, the campus will not be open to guests until 4:30pm. Guests who arrive before then will be asked to leave and return later. This helps us wrap up our school day for our freshmen-juniors and will help avoid unnecessary traffic congestion.
