Congratulation to Eleonora Martirosyan! 1st Place at the Invention Convention!

Congratulations to 8th grader Eleonora Martirosyan for earning 1st place at the Glendale Unified School District GATE Invention Convention! She invented a solar-powered mini sprinkler system for potted plants! Thank you to Mr. Lombardi who mentored our Invention Convention participants and congratulations to all of our hard working students who participated.

Special Event! A Visit With Author Lilliam Rivera!

In partnership with Vroman’s Bookstore, students of Wilson Middle School will hear a

special presentation by children's author, Lilliam Rivera. On Tuesday, February 23rd,

Lilliam will present their newest children's title, Goldie Vance: The Hocus-Pocus Hoax.

Coming soon! Wilson Virtual Book Fair March 1-12!

Save the dates! Wilson's Online Book Fair is coming soon! March 1st through March 12th, students will be able to purchase books online to help out our school. Want a sneak peak? Click here to take a look at the books that you'll be able to purchase.

Virtual Open House! Save the date-March 3rd at 5:40!

Virtual Open House is coming on March 3rd starting at 5:40. More information with how to join the event will come from your teachers and in next week's student and parent bulletins.

Registering for Classes 2021-2022

Our counselors, Mr. Marsh and Mr. Castaldo are visiting English classes this month to talk about registration. This year, registration will be completed through a Google Form. Students will receive the link for their Google Form after Mr. Walt/Mr. Castaldo's class visit.

Community Service Project-Support the Glendale Humane Society!

The wonderful staff and students of Wilson Middle School are giving back! We are currently collecting supplies to donate to the Glendale Humane Society to support animals that need some love. Here is a wishlist of donation that you can contribute:


➢ paper towels

➢ bath towels liquid laundry detergent

➢ antibacterial soap

➢ garbage bags

➢ toys (dogs and cats)

➢ leashes

➢ collars

➢ dog and cat beds

➢ bowls

➢ crates

➢ dog clothes


Please drop off your donations at Wilson Middle School. Our donation drive will run

through the month of February. You can drop off your donations in front of the school

from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. There will be boxes in front of the school where you can

drop off your donations.

It's Black History Month! Enjoy inspirational Speakers!

Glendale Unified School District will host a special webinar series featuring Black and African American leaders who serve their communities in wonderful and different ways. The theme for Black History Month 2021 is The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity. We encourage all students to participate in these webinars to learn more and celebrate Black History. Click here to find out how to access these events.

WEB LEADERS NEEDED!

Attention 7th Graders!

What is WEB? WEB stands for "Where Everybody Belongs". In this program, soon to be 8th graders are trained to be mentors for incoming 6th and 7th graders. As positive role models, WEB Leaders are student leaders who guide the 6th/7th graders to discover what it takes to be successful during middle school. Do you think you have what it takes to be a WEB Leader? Do you think you would like to mentor other students at Wilson? If that is something you might be interested in or if you have any questions about WEB, please contact Ms. Fink at sfink@gusd.net.

ELPAC Testing is coming on February 22nd!

ELPAC testing will start on Monday, February 22 in all ELD classrooms. All students will need their Verizon chromebooks or District chromebooks for testing.

Remote Library Book Check Out Available!

Use the Library Check-out with the following procedures:


1. Visit destiny.gusd.net to view available books

a. Select Wilson.

b. Select Catalog to look for a certain book or

c. Select Destiny Discover to browse titles

2. Complete this google form with your library book selections by 3 PM on Mondays.

3. You will receive a confirmation email on Tuesday that your books are ready for pick up.

4. Pick up books in front of the library Wednesdays between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Books are checked out for one month.

We will also have free books for you to take when you pick up your library books! Free books are always available to you in the foyer of the school.

Good Knight Tickets

Your teachers can give you Good Knight Tickets for being kind, responsible, and reflective. Check out the PBIS Reward link on your Clever account. This is how you log in to redeem your tickets for cool prizes. You can redeem tickets for fun prizes!

Question of the Week

Question of the Week: While at school, we had a daily question of the day in the morning announcements. Since we are now in remote learning, we will have a weekly Question of the Day in the Sunday night call/email. Students/families can submit an answer. A correct response will be randomly selected and the winner will be announced in the following Sunday callout/email. By submitting a response, you are agreeing to having your name announced in the schoolwide call out/email.


Last week’s Question of the Week: In honor of Black History month, our questions for the month, will highlight Black History Month: Who coordinated the Underground Railroad?

The answer: Harriet Tubman coordinated the Underground Railroad.


Congratulations to Charlene Avedian a 7th grader from Mr. Markos' 2nd period homeroom class for correctly answering the question.
