Transportation for 2022 - 2023 School Year
Please complete Student Transportation Input Form
So that we can better plan student transportation needs and routes/schedules for the 2022—2023 school year, we have implemented an online Student Transportation Input Form at https://www.sno.wednet.edu/Page/5342. Between now and through early summer, we are asking all parents/guardians of 2022-2023 students to please complete this form. The form only needs to be completed once per student.
After School Book Club - April 27th
Little Cedars library, together with the Snohomish public library, is hosting Space Case by
Stuart Gibbs for our book club!
It’s a murder mystery on the moon in this humorous and suspenseful space adventure from the author of Belly Up and Spy School that The New York Times Book Review called “a delightful and brilliantly constructed middle grade thriller.”
Like his fellow lunarnauts—otherwise known as Moonies—living on Moon Base Alpha, twelve-year-old Dashiell Gibson is famous the world over for being one of the first humans to live on the moon.
And he’s bored out of his mind. Kids aren’t allowed on the lunar surface, meaning they’re trapped inside the tiny moon base with next to nothing to occupy their time—and the only other kid Dash’s age spends all his time hooked into virtual reality games.
Then Moon Base Alpha’s top scientist turns up dead. Dash senses there’s foul play afoot, but no one believes him. Everyone agrees Dr. Holtz went onto the lunar surface without his helmet properly affixed, simple as that. But Dr. Holtz was on the verge of an important new discovery, Dash finds out, and it’s a secret that could change everything for the Moonies—a secret someone just might kill to keep... Goodreads, August 2017
Students wanting to participate need to commit to reading Space Case. Our group will meet only once, on April 27th at 2:50-3:45 pm. Students who have read the book will enjoy discussion and activities hosted by Little Cedars and Snohomish library staff.
To participate, please fill out the information on the electronic form on library canvas under After-school book club. Students who make this commitment and sign- up will receive a free copy of the book. The book will be theirs to keep! Limited copies are available.

Reminder: Tdap Immunization Requirement for 7th grade
Dear Parent or Guardian,
As of August 1, 2020 the required Tdap vaccine has changed to 7th grade to better align with the updated 2019 national immunization schedule (https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/hcp/imz/child-adolescent.html). In the past, the Tdap booster was required for all 6th grade students, unless they have a provider-signed exemption form.
For the 2022-2023 school year, all students attending grades 7 through 12 must have one dose of Tdap vaccine, before starting school.
• For students in 7th grade, the Tdap vaccine must be given at or after age 10 to be accepted for school entry.
• For students in 8th to 12th grades, the Tdap vaccine must be given at or after age 7 to be accepted for school entry.
To update your child's Tdap immunization record at the school, you will need to turn in a medically verified immunization record. Your child's health care provider can print this for you, or you can print it from MylR, which is a free Department of Health online tool that allows families to view and print their official immunization records themselves. Go to https://wa.myir.net/register to begin the sign-up process.
To find out more about this change, or the updated August 1, 2020 law, please visit the Washington State Department of Health's website at www.doh.wa.gov/schoolimms2020.
I highly recommend parents schedule an appointment for your 6th grade student to receive this vaccine ASAP, if they haven’t already received it. Please bring confirmation, as outlined above, to middle school (VVMS- RN) registration, scheduled for August 24, 10am-1pm & 4-7pm. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Nurse Rose (Flaherty)

Happy Spring Break to all!
Our LC Veggie Garden Expansion is finally happening!! A big thank you to our PTA for saving the generous funding of this project that they granted back in pre-Covid days.
In order to get the gardening going ASAP, we need some help. I’ve bought kits for two more raised beds that will be delivered next week, and so we are looking for some parent helpers who are willing to put them together the week after spring break. I will be getting bags of soil to fill them with soon, and while the kids love to do that work, in the interest of time it would be great to have some assistance. Maybe some parents and kids can work together on that?
If you are interested, please contact Libbie Moshier at 360 563-2906, or libbie.moshier@sno.wednet.edu
Thanks!
Hoping everyone gets some much-needed rest and fun over the break.
