Message from the Principal:
Good afternoon,
I know that this is the understatement of the year, but this is not how I envisioned the end of the year going.
I can't thank our parents, teachers and students enough for the critical role that you've played over the last quarter. I know that this remote learning was less than ideal, but I feel that some positives came out of it. Our teachers learned SO much about features that have always been available to us, but now have the confidence to utilize. Our students have shown resilency and adapted to less than perfect circumstances. Our parents have really shown a willingness to partner with the school, and displayed a patience in learning alongside their kids.
I know a lot is being said in the media about what's going on with education next year, and I know that it's becoming a fairly divisive issue. With everything about COVID-19 changing so rapidly, it's almost impossible to forecast what August is going to look like. I have devoted most of my energy towards wrapping up this year, and will turn my attention to the 20/21 school year in the coming days.
What I can assure you is that I will be collaborating with district leaders to ensure the safety of our students and staff. This has always been my number one goal, and this situation has further re-emphasized that core belief. Secondly, don't stress about the academic standing of your student due to these unfortunate circumstances. Your student is right where they are supposed to be, and I will work with district and school leaders to develop procedures to ensure all our students are receiving appropriate support. Lastly, I will continue to keep the community informed of any/all updates.
As always, I know that you have many options for where you send your student to school, and I appreciate you making Settler's Point your school of choice.
Stay safe and healthy in the coming weeks. I can't wait to see you all again!

Elementary Summer School....
It will be a little different than this past quarter, as the district is providing all supplies for the classes.
With my son's baseball being cancelled indefinitely, I signed him up for a couple of classes, as this could be a LONG summer :)
Here's the flyer with more information.
Congratulations!!!!
Mary Sink has been our primary speech language pathologist at Settler's Point for the last 16 years.
Judi Eccles has been our art teacher on campus for the last three years.
Congratulations to both of you, and thank you so much for your dedication to the students and staff at Settler's Point.
6th Grade Parade....
Our sixth grade students will be traveling from the Civic Center towards Lindsay on Settler's Point Drive. Come wave good bye and wish them luck as they move on to junior high.
All of the staff at SPE will be there to wave and celebrate all that they have accomplished. Please consider joining us, while spreading out along Settler's Point Drive.
4th Quarter Report Cards:
As previously communicated, the Elementary Report Card for 2019-20 will not contain any new grades or comments for the 4th Quarter. A message will be placed on each student’s report card at the end of the comments section stating, “Due to COVID-19, the fourth quarter will not be posted on the report card.” Report Cards will not be printed or sent home, as there would be no change from the 3rd Quarter report card.
If you choose, you may access your student's report card in Infinite Campus, using the directions below.

A Message from Follow Your Heart Animal Shelter...
A big thank you to the Muttigree’s Club for choosing Follow Your Heart Animal Rescue as a community project to support. The donations collected by your school, are extremely helpful in the care for all the animals we take into the rescue. We are always in need of many items to help care for the animals while staying in their foster home (a temporary home) until the dog is adopted. The additional monetary donations that you raised will go to vet care for Lexi. A special thanks to Angie and Lisa the teachers who supervise this club!
Thank You!!!!
Last Call for Personal Belongings...
If you haven't signed up yet, or missed your appointment, please contact your child's homeroom teacher or the front office. Anything left after 5/22 will be donated and/or thrown away.
