MES Science Fair

All 4th and 5th graders had the opportunity to participate in an optional science fair held during electives last Tuesday. We had a great turn out with 15 participants! PTO very generously donated prizes and an ice cream party for participants.

We would like to thank Grace Barnett, STEM teacher at MES for organizing a fantastic first ever event for our students. She invited a number of community judges, and we were lucky to have John Stavlo attend, judge and ask questions of our participants. Please join me in congratulating the following participants:

Parking Lot Etiquette

We encourage you to use the driveway to drop-off your students. Please drive up as far as you can and drop off in the yellow-zoned area. If you need to come in to the school, please park in the designated parking lot for visitors located at the east end of the school (the parking lot closest to The Trails Subdivision). Please use the visitors parking lot if you are dropping off ski equipment to place in the lockers. The staff parking lot is for all staff from 7:00am - 1:40pm. Parents may use the staff parking lot after 1:40pm if there are no parking spaces available in the parent parking. Remember to drive slowly in the school driveway! If we work together, we can move cars efficiently and safely through the parking lot.

Late to School

We have a few children who have been late to school repeatedly. Please remember that the State of California requires that children receive a number of predetermined minutes of instruction. Lateness creates a problem for the student and disrupts the classroom instruction.

Attendance Hotline

Please call our attendance hotline to report your child’s absence @ 760-934-7162. If your child’s absence is not reported, it is considered unexcused.
