Parents as a reminder if your student is absent please call the Absence Line to report the absence (714) 986-7080. If your student is late please check your student into the office unless they are coming with a Doctor, Dentist, or other medical practitioner note.
Student Earbuds or Headphones
Parents, it is okay for students to bring and use their own earbuds or headphones while they are using school Chromebooks.

Last Week for the Fundraiser
The last turn in day for the fundraiser is this Thursday! Selling cookie dough and/or getting donations gets students to the Big Bash with a dance party on October 24th! Who doesn't want to take a break from class to go have a blast?
Back to School Night- Tuesday, September 25th-

WEB 6th Grade Homework Club, Thursdays, 3:35- 4:30 in room #17
Homework Club is a fun, safe place for 6th graders to get some tutoring, help with studying and organization, as well as, completing their homework At WEB Homework Club, experienced and academically successful 7th/8th grade WEB Leaders are available for tutoring. Students may attend with their friends and form their own study groups Ms. Taylor is the supervising teacher and is, also, available to help and tutor students. Participants receive a small snack to enjoy while they are working, therefore, donations for snacks are gladly accepted
School Site Council Parent Members Needed
The Yorba Linda Middle School Site Council (SSC) is now accepting nominations for parent members on the SSC.
The SSC is an excellent opportunity for parents, students and site personnel to work together and plan for student achievement. We encourage you to be involved in your child’s education.
The School Site Council serves the students and the school by:
developing the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) with teachers, support staff, and students;
implementing the SPSA, putting it into effect for student learning;
evaluating the SPSA to see if it is helping all students; and
verifying and assuring money expenditures in the school plan are used to improve academic performance of all pupils.
Parent members of the SSC are expected to:
attend four meetings throughout the school year;
actively participate in SSC responsibilities;
represent parents in the neighborhood and community; and
become knowledgeable about the SPSA through training provided each year (October 2018)
If you are interested, please fill out the nomination form and return it to the front office by September 21st. your name will be placed on a ballot for an election. On September 25, 2018, Yorba Linda Middle School will host our Back to School Night parent event. During this event, parents and community members will have the opportunity to elect parent representatives to the council.
PTSA Membership drive is still going on and we are close to 500 members. If you or your student have not joined please consider joining as the money raised by the PTSA helps support teachers and students on YLMS campus. For more information please visit the PTSA Website.

Empowered Women in Industry
Tuesday, Oct. 16th, 6pm
1651 Valencia Avenue
Individuals of all ages are encouraged to the Women in Industry event for the opportunity to learn from an esteemed panel of female captains of industry who represent the diverse professional sector.
Women in Industry will take place Tuesday, October 16, 2018, in the PYLUSD Performing Arts Center located at 1651 Valencia Ave, Placentia, CA 92870. The time is to be determined. This event is free to the public.
